About Dr. Sims

I grew up on a farm in north Florida, about 20 minutes from the Georgia, Alabama, Florida tri-state region. In my youth, I enjoyed time outdoors, fishing, hunting and playing baseball, football and wrestling. I did not grow up wanting to be a chiropractor. I can’t say I knew what a chiropractor was when I was in my youth. From a young age, I have always wondered how and why things work.  This curiosity grew and eventually lead to me pursuing a degree as a mechanical engineer. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical engineering. I worked as a mechanical engineer for approximately 6 years. As an engineer, I would design and maintain vacuum pumps and compressors that aided in reducing underground petroleum contamination located at various gas stations throughout the state of Florida.

During this time as an engineer, my wife became pregnant with our first child. She has always utilized chiropractic care throughout her life and during this pregnancy was no different. I was not a believer in chiropractic care at this time. However, due to the positive experiences that my wife had during the pregnancy and delivery of our first child I began to become interested and curious about how chiropractic care works.

I quickly realized that my beliefs on health and the chiropractic paradigm were similar. My curiosity of how and why things work immediately shifted to how and why the body works. This curiosity grew and I decided to quit my job as an engineer and return to school to pursue a career as a chiropractor. I enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa and graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree and have been working as a chiropractor since graduating.

I love being a chiropractor. I love learning about the body and how it works. I love helping people. I especially enjoy treating new patients who are foreign to chiropractic care and seeing the relief that they achieve and watching them become believers in the power of chiropractic care as I did.

I am excited to be part of the Arizona Pain Relief team. I am thrilled to be able to work with a group of like-minded professionals consisting of medical providers, physical therapists and other chiropractors like myself who are all working together to provide the best possible treatment plan to provide relief to our patients.
