Dr. Brock Johansen

I have always been intrigued by how the body worked. I could tell, even at a young age, that the body was so very complex but at the same time very simple. I started studying the human body in high school where I excelled in human anatomy. At this time in my life I knew that I wanted to become a doctor, but I wasn’t sure what type of doctor. One day while hitting baseballs at the batting cage I threw my back out so bad that I could hardly walk without immense pain. I immediately started rehab to repair the damage, which included spastic muscles, limited movement, and lots of pain. Part of my rehab was to have my spine adjusted and I was amazed how great I felt and how quickly I recovered. After my adjustments, I had less pain, more flexibility, and was quickly able to get back to playing ball.

I continued studying the human body and eventually earned my Bachelors of Science in Human Biology. I became more aware how powerful the body is and it’s ability is to heal itself when given the proper support. During this time is when I met my wife, Megan. Since her youth, Megan has been challenged by a condition called Scoliosis. Scoliosis is a medical condition in which a person’s spine has abnormal curves which can be very painful and physically limiting. I wanted to help her have as normal of a life as possible so I decided to earn my Doctorates in Chiropractic at the Texas Chiropractic College where I was trained further in the proper way of healing the body with chiropractic adjustments, nutrition, exercise, physical therapies, and much more.

Chiropractic is a system of complementary care, based on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of misalignments of the joints, especially those of the spinal column, which can cause other disorders by affecting the nerves, muscles, and organs. Modern medicine, on the other hand, is designed to only step in once a problem already exists, and often times too late for any chance of recovery. I will be the first to admit that there are a time and place for modern medicine, but it can be largely avoided when a person understands how to take care of themselves and prevent illnesses from happening in the first place. Even if a person is currently dealing with health issues, their body can still make powerful changes without prescription medications and invasive surgeries.

I love what I do, and I love to watch people’s understanding about their bodies increase as they overcome their health challenges. I am thankful for each day I have to share what I know with those willing to listen.
